Eco Career Closet Program
Empowering Job Seekers with Confidence and Style
Eco Dry Cleaners is proud to introduce the Eco Career Closet Program, a unique and innovative initiative designed to support job seekers in Ottawa. In collaboration with Ottawa Library, local employment support organizations, community centers, and businesses, we aim to provide professional attire to individuals preparing for job interviews, helping them look and feel their best while fostering a spirit of community support and sustainability.

How It Works
1. Our Clients Donate Clothes
- Community Contributions: We partner with local residents, businesses, and organizations to collect gently used professional clothing such as blazers, suits, skirts, trousers, dresses, and shoes.
- Sustainability First: Eco Dry Cleaners ensures all donated items are cleaned and maintained to the highest standard using eco-friendly cleaning methods.
2. Empowering Job Seekers
- Clothing Selection: Job seekers can visit our partner locations or our designated Eco Career Closet space at 222 Albert Street to try on and borrow professional attire.
- Interview Styling Sessions: With the help of volunteer stylists and mentors, individuals can receive advice on selecting the best outfit for their job interviews.
3. Circular Fashion Model
- Garment Returns: After their interviews, job seekers return the borrowed clothes. We professionally clean and prepare them for the next individual, promoting a sustainable cycle of reuse while supporting others on their journey to success.
- We empower job seekers with the confidence they need to make a strong impression, ensuring they feel prepared and supported every step of the way.
4. Confidence Beyond Clothes
- Workplace Readiness Workshops: The program will host workshops on interview tips, workplace etiquette, and personal branding in partnership with employment support organizations.
- Community Success Stories: We’ll celebrate participants' success by sharing stories (with consent) to inspire others and highlight the impact of the program.
What Makes Eco Career Closet Unique?
- Eco-Focused Impact Unlike traditional clothing programs, we emphasize sustainability. Our cleaning methods and circular model reduce waste, ensuring the community benefits without harming the environment.
- Mobile Career Closet We will introduce a Mobile Career Closet Van that visits underserved neighborhoods, bringing clothing options directly to job seekers who may face transportation barriers.
- Digital Wardrobe Platform Job seekers can browse available clothing options online through our Eco Career Closet Digital Wardrobe, making the process more accessible and convenient.
- Collaborative Partnerships We’ll partner with local tailors and designers to alter or update donated items, creating a modern and stylish wardrobe that meets today’s professional standards.
- Recognition & Rewards Volunteers and donors will receive recognition through events, exclusive discounts at Eco Dry Cleaners, and opportunities to engage with the program’s impact stories.
